The Reina Valera Bible is a series of reviews of the first complete Bible translated into Spanish. It receives the name Reina Valera because it was revised in 1602 by the Spanish Hieronymite monk Cipriano de Valera.

This Reina-Valera Bible had great repercussion during the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century and today after many revisions it is one of the most used Bibles by the Protestant and evangelical Spanish-speaking churches.

Among its several revisions, we find the Reina Valera Bible 1995, Reina Valera 1960 (RVR60), Reina Valera 1909, Reina Valera Contemporánea (RVC) and Reina Valera 1602 Purificada.

The RV1995 Bible had a careful revision of the vocabulary, updating terms and expressions that have fallen into disuse and an update of grammar and syntax to the use of the current Spanish.
